Fed up with the Dalai Lama

OK, I'm fed up with the Dalai Lama.

It's fine with me if Tibetans want to worship some guy who is basically an hereditary monarch. He lives in palaces - this gold-roofed building on the left is his summer home.

I'm OK with the British royal family too, as long as the Brits want to pay for them. But at least Queen Elizabeth doesn't go around lecturing about "peace" and offering advice on how those of us who were not born into a job at the top of the food chain should live. It's pretty easy to roll into Hawaii and give a lecture on "Advancing Peace through the Power of Aloha" all the while being treated as some kind of magical mystical super-being by Tibetans and non-Tibetans alike. Who wouldn't want the job of "Dalai Lama?"

Really though, I mostly blame Facebook and all my FB "friends" who keep posting useless wise sayings from this guy - some of which may not actually be things that he said. Although it does seem that he's made some homophobic statements.
