Back to Heavens to Mergatroyd - blog of N. G. McClernan, playwright & cultural materialist

Oh I know you read me!

Oh I know you read me! Experiments
I have conducted and analysis
Made of data, sliced into fine segments -
And the insufferable silence persists.
Why maintain this mono-sided exchange
And semi-daily habitual urge?
Oh my darling it is so modern~strange
And tardies the inevitable purge
Of you from my poor and benighted head
When at long last love I deserve relief,
From your black cloud on my life, over-spread:
My delight in you was so wicked brief.
Oh darling! You traded love so sublime
For a common crowd who can't even rhyme.
