NY Sonnet #1
Darling why did you send it all to hell?
Together we would be legendary,
My devotion intense, my lust as well,
Ready to write you love's dictionary.
You must be blessed in all your relations
That you can afford to alienate
Sincere affection, cause its cessation
Without a pang of regret; to cause hate
To replace all sweet and tender feeling
In exchange for a sociopath's bed.
It sets the forsaken heart a-reeling.
I pity you - you're not right in the head:
Obedient to evil's beck and call
You drove away who loved you best of all.
